Americo Life Insurance

Laying the foundation for a successful future

The roots of the Americo family of companies date back more than 100 years.  Our growth has been built on the successful acquisition of over 15 insurance entities…each with its own distinctive advantages.

1922, Great Southern Life became the first company in America to insure the lives
   of children

1971, Ohio State Life was the first to advance death benefit payments to sustain the
   life of a policyholder

1981, Great Southern Life led the way as one of the first American companies to
   offer universal life insurance

More recently, we were one of the first companies to introduce indexed universal life
   and annuity products.

For three generations, the owners and management of Americo have maintained a respect and passion for the insurance business.

Today, Americo Financial Life and Annuity Insurance Company is the lead company in one of the largest independent, privately held insurance groups in the United States1 with over 640,000 policies, over $31.6 billion of life insurance in force, and $6.1 billion in assets for year-end 2014.2

With over 350 associates, Americo services our independent agents and policyholders through operations in Kansas City, MO.
